VARMINT SPECIAL .223 SUPPRESSOR FROM SOUND TECH
The latest innovation to come from Sound Tech is a long, relatively thin .223 (5.56x45mm NATO) can designed to work on a varmint rifle (such as Remington’s 700 VS in .223 shown in the photo). The sound level is reported to be a mild 134 dB 1 meter from the suppressor’s muzzle. This is with M855 ball ammo. This measurement is considerably less than the blast from an unsuppressed.22 LR rifle which is typically measured at around 140 dB. While bullet flight noise is still present, this does apparently not alarm varmints to any great degree. The new suppressor has a diameter of 1.375-inch, is 9 inches in length and weighs just 19 ounces. It is constructed of 4130 CM steel and is welded together. The new suppressor is threaded 13/16 X 20 left hand. Retail for the new suppressor is just $485.00 which includes barrel threading and test firing. This new can is not recommended for mounting on an M-16 rifle since when in use it becomes hot very rapidly. For more information contact Mark White at Sound technology (Dept. FEATHERWEIGHT BIPOD™ FROM ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
After years of research to develop a revolutionary bipod that combines all the features that shooters want at 40% less cost without compromising quality, Advanced Technology, Inc., announces several new Featherweight Bipods™. This breakthrough in engineering technology fills the link between quality and affordability. All of the new models weigh between 6 and 8 ounces. They are manufactured of black, injection-molded nylon; a lightweight material developed for extreme durability. The bipods will not scratch, rust or dent. The legs on the new bipods take only one second to extend or retract. To extend the legs from 9 to 13 inches, simply twist a thumbscrew a 1/4 turn, allowing the legs to drop freely and then retighten. To retract the legs, simply invert the rifle and repeat the process. The shooter can make all adjustments with one hand, while holding the rifle in the other. Legs fold forward, down or reward with one motion. You simply press the “snap-n-lock” button and push the leg. The new bipods install without gunsmithing or modification to the rifle. Protective pads are included for wood stocks. The bipods mount to existing sling swivels or the bayonet lug. They come in swiveling and non-swiveling models. The swiveling models pan 60 degrees. All models allow the use of a sling and have rubber protective feet. Best of all they are made right here in the USA and come with an unconditional lifetime guarantee. SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL BOOK
Reuters, the global information, news and technology group, and Prentice Hall, an imprint of Pearson Education, has published September 11, A Testimony, a pictorial record of the events of September 11 and the reaction to them around the globe. All royalties from the sale of the book will go to charity. September 11, A Testimony includes over 130 photographs, many of them previously unpublished. The book contains images taken by Reuters award-winning photographers. It captures a first-hand account of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and on the Pentagon in Washington D.C., the crash of United flight 93 in Pennsylvania and subsequent events. The photographs highlight the massive scale of the devastation and pay tribute to the heroic acts of those who fought to save lives. In the words of Tom Glocer, Reuters Chief Executive, “September 11, A Testimony is dedicated to the six Reuters colleagues whom we lost in the World Trade Center attack. The book contains many harrowing photos which capture the destruction that day, but these images record acts of great heroism and the resilience of the human spirit.” For more information of to order a copy of this extraordinary book contact Gardi Wilks at 1-708-366-8389 (tell her you saw it in SAR) or visit www.reuters.com.

STREAMLIGHT INTRODUCES VARIABLE INTENSITY ACCESSORY
Streamlight, Inc., a manufacturer of high-powered flashlights, has announced the introduction of the Digital Flasher/Dimmer Tailcap for its SL-20X™ and SL-35X™ flashlights. The Digital Flasher/Dimmer Tailcap is ideal for law enforcement because it enables users to adjust the beam from a high-intensity, brilliant stream of light to low-level lighting. This ability to digitally control the light intensity broadens the applications for both the SL-20X and SL-35X flashlights. Also notable is the flash mode of the Digital Flasher/Dimmer Tailcap. This strobe feature is ideal for use in traffic control situations where extended run times are needed. While in the flash mode, the flashlight battery is conserved, extending the longevity of the battery up to 200%. Fitted for SL-20/20X and SL-35/35X flashlights, the Digital Flasher/Dimmer Tailcap retrofits to existing models. Once the flashlight is turned on, activating the Digital Flasher/Dimmer Tailcap is simple. Users press the tactile dome tailcap switch until the desired light intensity is achieved, then release the switch to maintain the desired level of light. To activate the flash mode, users simply double click the tailcap switch. Constructed of durable machined aluminum, the rechargeable SL-20X and SL-35X flashlights are operational for up to 1.5 hours, between charges. The lights, which are individually serialized for easy identification and logging, operate on a nickel cadmium 6-volt battery which can be recharged to full strength up to 1,000 times. The SL-20X delivers up to 30,000 candlepower and the SL-35X delivers up to 40,000 candlepower. The suggested retail price of the Digital Flasher/Dimmer Tailcap is $34.95.
