Mission First Tactical, LLC (MFT) is proud to introduce Torch; the new MFT series of lights and IR for home defense, law enforcement, security and as a primary light source backup. The Torch line includes three models and all are USA made by Princeton Tec. The Torch Backup Light White (TBLW) is a low profile, Picatinny mounted light with dual white LEDs. It has a recessed pressure pad for easy activation and a power button for simple ON/OFF functions. The illumination is low output for signature reduction during patrol, stealth structure search and approach to the target and breaching operations. The Torch Backup Light White has a 10-year storage lifespan, a 12-hour burn time with a 20-lumen bright white output. It weighs just 22 grams and has an IPX7 water resistant rating. MSRP is $59.99. The Torch Backup Light White/Red (TBLWR) illumination tool has many of the same features of the TBLW, except the dual LEDs are white and red; it has a 24-hour burn time and a 10-lumen output. Also, the power button features a one-click for low, a second click for high and a hold for 2-seconds brings on the primary light functionality. MSRP is $59.99. The third light in the Torch series is the Backup Light with Red/IR LEDs (TBLIR). It features all the same specifications of the TBLWR and includes the IR LED. MSRP is $59.99.
Trijicon has combined the legendary toughness and function of its combat-proven ACOG and associated ballistic reticles with a new variable optic. The new Trijicon VCOG (Variable Combat Optical Gunsight) 1-6×24 mm meets the rigorous demands of duty or competition while giving shooters the flexibility to engage CQB targets and out to the maximum effective range of most service rifles. Designed and built in the USA, the Trijicon VCOG is machined from a 7075-T6 aluminum forging and given a Mil Spec, hard-coat anodized finish. There is a full 90 MOA of windage and elevation adjustment available in 1/2 in. / click increments at 100m to get almost any weapon system on target. Lenses are all fully multicoated with a broadband anti-reflective coating that maximizes light transmission while meeting and beating the military’s requirements for abrasion resistance. The scope maintains a constant four inches of eye relief throughout its magnification range and an oversized and knurled adjustment knob makes finding the perfect power setting easy and fast, even with gloved hands. The VCOG is waterproof to 66 feet and its illumination electronics are Mil Spec tough. Initially, the VCOG will be offered with seven different reticle choices, all of which are located in the first focal plane allowing the ballistic reticle to be used at any magnification. The segmented circle reticle with a centered crosshair can be matched with 175-grain 7.62, 55- and 77-grain 5.56, or 115-grain supersonic 300 BLK loads. The popular horseshoe/dot reticle is available in each of the 5.56 and 7.62 offerings. The red illuminated reticle is powered by a common AA battery, accessible underneath the objective, delivering 700 continuous hours of runtime at setting 4 of 6 with a lithium battery. A rheostat is located on the main tube, opposite the windage turret, and has an off position between each of its six brightness settings. An integral mount securely pairs the optic with any M1913 Picatinny rail and its height is perfect for flattop M16, M4, AR-15 and SR-25/AR-10-style rifles. At just 10 inches, the VCOG leaves plenty of rail space ahead of the objective for night vision or thermal intensifiers. Also new for 2014, Trijicon has introduced a selection of ACOG, Reflex and RMR models featuring Cerakote finishes. Cerakote is a ceramic based finish that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood surfaces. This versatile finish is becoming a popular option for high-quality firearms and accessories. Trijicon now offers color options in Sniper Gray, OD Green and Flat Dark Earth (FDE) on select ACOG, Reflex and RMR models.
Ohio Ordnance Works, Inc. has now introduced a new rifle that they have dubbed the HCAR, which is an acronym for Heavy Counter Assault Rifle. The rifle’s origins began decades ago as John Browning’s famous BAR chambered for .30-06. The new HCAR brings the BAR into the 21st century with an extreme makeover. The gun has a lightened receiver and a new trigger pack that has a trigger that can be adjusted down to 3.5 pounds as well as a pistol grip. Other features of the new rifle include a lightened, fluted barrel that is threaded to accept flash hiders as well as suppressors. The rifle is semiautomatic and fires from a closed bolt. It accepts any magazine made for the original BAR as well as the new 30-round magazines that Ohio Ordnance Works themselves make. The gun’s receiver has an M16 buffer tube so it can use any collapsible or fixed stock made for the M16 rifle. The HCAR includes a railed forearm as well as a Picatinny rail along the top of its receiver for optic and accessory mounting. The total weight of the rifle has been dropped to just 12 pounds, which is about 7 pounds less than the original BAR. The HCAR will be available in most Cerakote color finishes. Watch future issues of Small Arms Review and Small Arms Defense Journal for a full test article on this new gun.
LaserLyte, innovators in firearms laser technologies, re-engineers the best-selling Kryptonyte Center Mass laser system to give users a choice between two laser patterns; single dot or the popular Center Mass pattern. The Center Mass laser feature projects a ring of eight green laser dots with one green laser dot in the center as the aiming laser. The circle grows at one-inch per yard, approximately the same configuration as a shotgun aimed at a moving target. The green laser, both single and Center Mass pattern, aid the user in daylight visibility, giving the user the advantage of a wide field-of-view while using both eyes for aiming. The CM-K15B, built in rugged military style housing, sports a tethered battery cap to prevent loss during in-the-field battery changes. The hybrid aluminum and nylon design of the unit gives it the durability to withstand active scenarios. The aluminum core keeps the laser accurate and reliable. The activation button located on top of the laser can be utilized as a momentary switch or with a quick double tap, will turn the laser to a constant ON mode. A remote pressure switch with a ten-inch length, two-inch tape switch area with copper braided cord is also included. The offset design of the CM-K15B allows the user a variety of mounting options. The LaserLyte CM-K15B Dual Lens Center Mass laser gets sport shooters and professionals on the target faster, increasing accuracy and overall hits.
Command Arms Introduces New Magazines and M4 Handguards

Command Arms Accessories (CAA)/EMA Tactical is proud to introduce their new and innovative Three Window Magazine. The three built in windows allows the operator to see how many rounds remain in the mag allowing the operator to keep track of his remaining rounds and facilitates timely magazine changes without the operator losing his sight picture. Simply glancing down at the back of the magazine from his cheek weld shows the approximate number of rounds remaining. When the magazine is full the operator will see the brass round casings in the top and middle windows. The (orange) follower will appear in the bottom window indicating a full magazine of 30 rounds. As rounds are fired, the operator glances at the middle window. When the middle window is empty only 19 rounds remain in the magazine. Then the operator glances at the top window. When the top window is empty only 11 rounds remain. This three window system shows that when the middle window is empty the operator has 2/3 or fewer of the rounds remaining and when the top window is empty only 1/3 of the rounds remain in the magazine.

Three Window Magazine.

Also new from Command Arms Accessories/EMA Tactical is their M4S1 M16/AR-15 Carbine Handguard System, which sets the standard for a stable and rigid design by combining interlocking top and bottom handguard sections with a bottom rail that can be mounted to the existing sling swivel mount for absolute rigidity. The M4S1 handguard will not move once locked in place providing repeatable zero. This is the first lightweight polymer handguard designed to withstand the extreme operating temperatures of a gas piston system. This extreme heat resistance is achieved by manufacturing the M4S1 from a proprietary heat resistant polymer, including a heat shield and providing significant upper and lower handguard venting in the design. The M4S1 also works with standard direct gas operating systems. The M4S1 includes two interchangeable lower rails of 4- and 1.75-inch lengths. This allows the operator to quickly change rails based on mission need. The two 1.75-inch side rails are removable if not required. Even with the side rails attached there is enough room left on the contoured handguard for your hand to hold it comfortably. An optional 9-inch long aluminum top rail attaches to the handguard and flat top rail providing a super stable platform for mounting optics and sights. The M4S1 also includes two mounting points for a push button quick detach sling swivel. For more information contact Command Arms Accessories/EMA Tactical, Dept. SAR, 1208 Branagan Drive, Tullytown, PA 19007. Phone: (215) 949-9944. Fax: (215) 949-9191.
CCI Introduces New Tactical .22 Long Rifle Load for AR Style Rifles

CCI now offers a load specifically for AR-style rifles: new .22 Long Rifle AR-Tactical. These new rounds are built to CCI’s high standards. The AR-Tactical bullets offer excellent accuracy – including 1.5 inches at 100 yards for 10-shot groups in factory testing. Testing also was conducted specifically for common law enforcement and military Smith & Wesson M&P 15/22 firearms. This testing confirmed the performance that tactical users require. A CCI case, primer and bullet lube combine with clean-burning powder to provide tactical-grade performance. The 40-grain rounds are a target bullet with a copper-plated round nose (CPRN) for smooth feeding. Tactical shooters can blast through an entire magazine without worrying of a glitch in feeding or on-target performance. A speed of 1,200 fps allows for excellent accuracy with low recoil.
Brownells Announces New AR-15/M16 “Paratrooper” Charging Handle

The Brownells Paratrooper Charging Handle for AR-15s and M16s improves the function of your favorite modern sporting rifle by providing the longest grasping surface on the market today. When you need to use it, the handle’s deeply serrated front face ensures non-slip hand contact for positive operation in all conditions. The Paratrooper is an oversized, left-side lever that folds against the receiver to present a slim, no-snag profile during carry or storage. It angles down slightly when retracted, so it won’t interfere with a scope or sight mounted on the receiver rail. The handle is 2.5 inches wide when open, and measures just under an inch wide when folded. Made in the U.S., the Paratrooper Charging Handle is machined from billet 7075 T6 aluminum – the same material as USGI receivers – for superb strength and reliability. The hardcoat-anodized finish resists corrosion and surface wear, and the matte-black finish matches most factory receiver finishes. The AR-15/M16 Paratrooper Charging Handle (#080-000-819) is drop-in ready for a Mil-Spec AR-15/M16 upper receiver. There’s no gunsmithing required. To learn more about the Paratrooper Charging Handle, you can contact them at Brownells, Dept. SAR, 200 Front Street, Montezuma, IA 501714. Phone: (641) 623-5401. Fax: (641) 623-3896.
SureFire Announces New 60- and 100-Round Magazines

SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products, is proud to announce the release of its hi-capacity 60- and 100-round (STANAG 4179) aluminum magazines for .223/5.56mm NATO M4/M16/AR-15-style firearms. These new high capacity magazines (HCMs), named the MAG5-60 and MAG5-100, are designed to provide military units with an overwhelming tactical advantage in the delivery of firepower. In battle, it typically takes the average soldier four seconds to reload his weapon and reacquire a target, valuable time that could be spent engaging threat targets. At best, 30-round magazines allow a soldier to fire no more than 150 rounds in 30 seconds. SureFire’s 60-round high-cap magazine increases that figure to 240 rounds and its 100-rounder to 293 rounds. Both will support military units planning to incorporate full-auto firepower to more of their operators. SureFire HCMs easily and securely fit into the host weapon, with the bolt closed, when loaded with the maximum round count. The design of the magazine takes into account the allowable tolerances of cartridges manufactured to NATO and SAAMI specifications. A 4×2 quad-stack configuration features a revolutionary internal spring and follower system designed to be more reliable than current standard Mil-Spec USGI 30-round magazines. This proprietary internal design also allows SureFire HCMs to be stored indefinitely while fully loaded, in preparation for deployment, which means individual units can be issued ammo supply crates with pre-loaded magazines instead of empty mags and ammo cans; another potential lifesaving benefit in critical-response situations. The MAG5-60 will fit into most nylon pouches with Velcro cover flaps intended to hold two standard 30-round magazines, but double magazine pouches with stitched partitions may require some alteration. Both the 60- and 100-round HCMs can be disassembled for periodic cleaning or as required. The magazine floor plate can be easily removed from the body using a punch, the tip of a cartridge, or a variety of common tools. MSRP is $129 for the 60-round magazine and $179 for the 100-rounder, with orders expected to begin shipping in March of 2011. For more information you can contact them at SureFire, LLC, Dept. SAR, 18300 Mount Baldy Circle, Fountain Valley, CA 92708. Phone: (800) 828-8809. Fax: (714) 545-9537.
McMillan Introduces the M3A Rifle

McMillan has now expanded its tactical line with the introduction of the McMillan M3A rifle. The M1 platform has seen renewed interest as a close-range to medium range weapon where performance of a .308 Winchester cartridge is preferred, but with the firepower of a semiautomatic action. The McMillan M3A has an 18 inch barrel and utilizes a six-groove rifling with 1×10 right hand twist. The action is Springfield M1A chambered in 7.62mm NATO (.308 Win). The adjustable cheekpiece on the McMillan M3A stock positions the head for an optimum cheek weld. The stock is designed to shoot with a scope as well as iron sights. An optional Picatinny site rail system with 10.75 inch bottom rail and 2×4 inch side rails is available for mounting night vision optics, forward mounted scopes and other accessories. The M3A uses a two stage military trigger set at five to six pounds. One 10-round magazine is included with the rifle. Accessories and upgrades are available, including scope, bipod, cleaning equipment, cases and other options. For more information or to place an order please contact McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, LLC, Dept. SAR, 1638 W. Knudsen Drive, Suite 101, Phoenix, AZ 85027. Phone: (623) 582-0536.
LaserLyte Subcompact V3 Laser

LaserLyte is now shipping the company’s most state-of-the-art, smallest and versatile rail mounted laser to date; the LaserLyte Subcompact V3 laser. Now, half the size of the previous model, the Subcompact V3 needs less than 3/4 inch of Picatinny rail space to easily mount onto even the smallest firearms. Constructed of T6 aluminum for extra strength and durability, this updated unit offers a smart, cost-effective auto-off feature. If left on for five minutes, the unit begins to display a unique flash for one minute, indicating to the user that the unit will automatically shut off soon. After one minute in flash mode the unit shuts itself off to extend battery life, prevent accidental activation and battery depletion. Press the unit’s button at any time to reset this feature for five more minutes. The Subcompact V3 easily mounts with a hex drive crossbar screw and features windage adjustment, elevation adjustment and programmable constant on and pulse modes. Additionally, the unit is ideal for left and right handed shooters with two separate activation buttons located on the backside of the laser. Not only will the laser fit nicely on the smallest of sub-compact railed pistols, it works great on modern rifles as well. The Subcompact V3 laser is powered by four 377 batteries that provide five hours in constant on mode and ten hours in pulse mode of normal usage. For more information on this tiny laser please contact LaserLyte, Dept. SAR, 101 Airpark Road, Cottonwood, AZ 83626. Phone: (928) 649-3201. Fax: (928) 649-3970.
For the past 100 years, the Model 1911 pistol has been trusted for its durability, simplicity and reliability. Using these tried and true principles, Ultimate Equipment is proud to introduce the M1911 Folding Knife.

The M1911 Folding Knife by Ultimate Equipment captures the spirit of the classic Model 1911 firearm. By using military standard grips, this knife delivers an authentic touch and feel of the M1911 pistol in your hands. It is sturdy, durable, and most of all reliable. Every M1911 Folding Knife is manufactured with standard 1911 pistol bushings, grip screws and grip panels. As a result, grips from the knife and those from your 1911 pistol are interchangeable.

Forged in American CPM S30V stainless steel, the M1911 knife is one tough tool. Ultimate Equipment’s workshop skillfully heat-treats and hardens the blade to HRC 59-61 rating providing wear and corrosion resistance second to none. The modern Particle Metallurgy process also creates a very refined grain microstructure with evenly dispersed Vanadium Carbides allowing the steel to take a fine consistent edge that stays razor sharp for a much longer time. The M1911 Folding Knife is also offered with a more affordable 440C stainless steel blade.

Ultimate Equipment has also added the innovative patent pending “Hammerhead Lock” to the M1911 knife. Being an ergonomically designed and ambidextrous locking mechanism, it enables smooth one-hand operation, while at the same time providing the most rock solid structure for a folding knife.

The knife comes in an attractive box that includes the knife with the blade and grips of your choice, a hex key for grip removal, left and right pocket carry clips and a sheath to carry the knife on your belt.

The M1911 Folding Knife can be ordered with the blade made of 440C or CPM S30V steel with Mahogany (Rosewood) or Ebony (Blackwood) grips. The M1911 folding knife with 440C steel blade has a MSRP of $99 with the Mahogany grips and $115 with the Ebony grips. The M1911 Folding Knife with the CPM S30V steel blade has an MSRP of $139 with the Mahogany grips and $155 with the Ebony grips.

New .223 62 Grain TSX Load from Black Hills Ammunition

Black Hills Ammunition has added a .223 load featuring the 62 grain Barnes TSX bullet. This new load joins the extensive Black Hills lineup of .223s which includes the 55 grain TSX added in 2009. The Barnes .223 TSX bullets are designed for high weight retention (typically 100%). This ammunition provides incredibly effective terminal performance. The projectile opens up immediately upon impact to over .45 caliber diameter but still penetrates deeply (approximately 20 inches in ballistic gelatin. Velocity is 3,100 fps from a 24-inch barrel or 3,000 fps from a 20-inch barrel. The 62 grain bullet works well with twist rates of 1 in 7, 1 in 8 or 1 in 9 inch barrels making it suitable for currently made semiautomatic rifles in this caliber. This is the optimum .223 load for use in hunting, self defense or police patrol rifle use where a hard hitting, but deep penetrating bullet is desired. This load is the optimum for police situations requiring a “Barrier Blind” projectile for maintaining effectiveness through intermediate barriers. This ammunition line is available in the Black Hills “New Ammunition” line and is not available as remanufactured ammunition. For more information on this as well as their extensive line of quality ammunition, please contact them at Black Hills Ammunition, Inc., Dept. SAR, P.O. Box 3090, Rapid City, SD 57709.
