Having a pistol and rifle chambered in the same cartridge is an American tradition. Now those who carry a 1911 can have a light weight, rapid firing, quick handling rifle that uses the same ammunition and the same magazines. Like all Aero Survival Rifles and Pistols, the new 1911 ASR is a no-tools-required, rapid take-down design for the ultimate in portability. This makes the 1911 ASR perfect as a backcountry or emergency survival firearm for outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, ranchers, pilots, or anyone who needs a compact, rugged, and reliable semi-automatic rifle.

Similar in appearance and manual-of-arms to an AR pattern rifle or pistol, Aero Survival Rifles and Pistols are original designs engineered to be lighter and more compact than similar AR based designs. A flat top configuration with a receiver-length Picatinny rail accommodates AR style optics and mounts. The 1911 ASR is blowback operated for simplicity and reliability. The barrel is 16.5” long and is threaded .578X28TPI. Both the upper and lower receivers are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and available in black, OD green and tan.
The 1911 ASR uses TNW Firearms new patent-pending multi-cartridge bolt face design. This uses an extractor and cartridge support that can slide in or out perpendicular to the bore axis to accommodate different pistol cartridges. It also does away with the need for a semi enclosed bolt face, increasing feeding reliability and extraction and ejection. It also makes changing the lower and cartridge selection much easier because the user will not need a different bolt or bolt face.

Available in January 2024, with an MSRP of $799, the new 1911 ASR gives 1911 shooters a portable, easy to handle, takedown, semi-automatic firearm that is truly a lightweight backpacking, survival, self-defense or emergency carbine or pistol. It ships from the factory with one 1911 magazine.
